Rules

The goal is to win, but it is the goal that is important, not the winning. The foremost rule governing the league is to have a commitment to fostering an open and welcome atmosphere, a place for people to play Pauper for the love of Pauper.

League tournament events will be conducted at REL Regular.

Points

Points are awarded at each monthly tournament (see schedule).

  • 3 points per win
  • 1 point per draw
  • 0 points per loss

Points accumulate month over month, and tracked on the leaderboard.

Only the best five results are tallied.

Tiebreakers for Final Standings

The first tiebreaker is total attendance. If Chandra attends all 6 tournaments and ends with 50 points, and Borborygmos attends 4 tournaments and also ends with 50 points, then Chandra wins the tiebreaker.

The second tiebreaker is the number of 5-0s a player achieves.

Decklists

Decklists are REQUIRED before the start of the tournament. You may easily add your list in Spicerack when you register. Players who have not done so will be asked to complete a paper list before beginning. If a player takes an excessive amount of time with this after the round has been scheduled to start, they may be awarded a G1 loss.

Proxies

Proxies for league tournaments are expressly allowed, however, such proxies must be:

  • Legible
  • Color printings of actual Magic cards (no hand-written cards)
  • Indistinguishable by feel from the rest of the deck (e.g., must be similar thickness to “real” cards)

You may reach out on our Discord server or send a message to any of our socials for assistance in making proxies. Also, we do have a number of decks available to loan.

Judges

There may be a playing judge, participating in the tournament. If the judge is needed for a considerable time, their match will be given a time extension. If there is a need for a judge call involving their own match, a backup judge (or the TO) will handle said call.
